L'Envers du Paradis

L'Envers du Paradis is a spiced citrus musk from the Swiss house Mizensir, composed by Alberto Morillas and released in 2015. Spicy is the word everyone uses for it; about two thirds also find it citrusy, and a third musky or ambery.

Calabrian bergamot opens it with a bright, slightly bitter, tea-like citrus freshness. Guatemalan cardamom is the heart of the matter: cool, green and aromatic, with that camphorous, almost eucalyptus-like edge that makes cardamom feel both spicy and refreshing. Pink pepper adds a gentle, rosy warmth beside it. The base is modern and clean, with musk giving a soft, skin-like smoothness and ambroxan a dry, mineral, radiant amber that extends the scent for hours without any heaviness.
