Encens Suave Extrait

Encens Suave Extrait by Matiere Premiere is an amber fragrance first of all, with sweet and resinous sides in strong support. Aurélien Guichard composed this extrait, released in 2024, and it is worn by anyone.

Frankincense, or olibanum, gives it a dry, smoky, slightly lemony resin from the start, the incense that gives the scent its name. Coffee adds a dark, roasted, faintly bitter note that deepens the smoke. The heart and base are warm and rich: labdanum, including Spanish labdanum, gives a sticky, ambery depth, benzoin, including Siam benzoin, a vanilla-like resin, and vanilla absolute a creamy, smooth sweetness.

At extrait strength and built on resin and vanilla, it reads as rich and enveloping, best kept for autumn and winter, for evenings and quiet, contemplative moments. Anyone who loves incense but wants it soft, sweet and ambery, as the word suave suggests, rather than austere or churchy, will find much to enjoy in it.
