Solar Musk

Solar Musk from the Argentine brand La Martina is a green, leathery citrus worn by anyone, composed by Barbara Zoebelein and released in 2020. Everyone who has described it calls it green, leathery and citrusy, and about half also find it sweet, woody and floral. Despite the name, no musk note is listed.

The notes are listed together. Yuzu, bergamot and apple open with a sharp, slightly sweet citrus brightness, with pink pepper adding a tingling edge; geranium and sage bring a rosy, herbal greenness through the middle; and the base of suede, birch, sequoia, oakmoss, moss and patchouli is where the leather votes come from, birch adding a smoky, tarry note and suede a softer, powdery leather over damp, mossy woods.

No wear reports have been collected, so longevity and sillage are unknown. A yuzu and birch leather of this kind suits spring and autumn and daytime wear, and would appeal to anyone who likes green scents with a smoky, leathery backbone. It is sold in an 80 ml bottle.
