True Reflection

True Reflection by Kim Kardashian is a fruity floral with a woody backbone: people describe it as woody and floral in equal measure, about two thirds also call it sweet, and a third notice musky and citrus sides. Caroline Sabas composed it, and it launched in 2012.

Bergamot opens with a light, clean brightness, and then the fruit arrives: peach, soft and velvety, and plum, darker and juicier, giving the scent most of its sweetness. The flowers are lush and white: gardenia is creamy and heady, orchid adds a smooth, slightly vanillic softness, and lotus brings a watery, clean freshness that keeps the bouquet from feeling too thick. The woody notes and patchouli underneath are what make it more than a simple fruity floral, adding dryness and earthy depth, with musk rounding off the finish.
