Ginger and cardamom open it with a fresh, warm, slightly peppery spice, and saffron adds its leathery, faintly metallic heat. Taif rose sits at the heart, a rich, spicy rose with a deep, almost jammy character. The base is where it turns serious: Laotian oud brings a smoky, resinous wood, incense a dry, churchy smoke, myrrh a bitter balsamic depth, and sandalwood a creamy softness. Civet adds a warm, animalic undertone that gives the whole composition a sense of skin and heat.
This is a bold, Eastern-leaning scent for cold weather and evenings, with little lightness. It should appeal to people who already enjoy oud and spiced rose and want a version with incense and an animal edge.
