Hestia

Hestia by the Italian house Giardino Benessere, composed by Paolo Terenzi and released in 2024, is a spicy, smoky woody leather worn by anyone. Everyone who describes it calls it spicy and woody; about two thirds also find it musky, resinous, amber-like and leathery.

Black pepper, pepper and cardamom open it with a sharp, warm spice, and almond adds a soft, slightly bitter sweetness. The heart is smoke and resin: incense and myrrh for a dry, churchy haze, benzoin for a sweet balsamic glow, birch for a tarry, leathery smoke and leather itself for a supple, animalic warmth. The base is creamy and deep: sandalwood and Australian sandalwood for smooth wood, guaiac wood and amyris for a dry, slightly smoky softness, ambergris for a salty warmth and white musk with musk for a clean finish.

It suits cold weather and evenings and someone who enjoys incense-and-leather compositions with depth and presence.
