Cherry sets the opening: dark, slightly tart and almond-like rather than candied. Saffron brings a leathery, faintly medicinal warmth, and rose, jasmine and osmanthus form a rich floral heart, osmanthus adding an apricot-like softness. Smoke is listed as a note in its own right and delivers the incense of the name, a dry, resinous haze that runs through the base alongside cypress and woody notes.
Reports on longevity and sillage have not yet been collected. By character it is an autumn and winter scent for evenings, suited to anyone who likes cherry taken somewhere smoky rather than sweet. It is sold in a mid-sized bottle.
