Bergamot and lemon open with a clean, sharp citrus that keeps the rose from arriving too heavily. The heart is rose in two forms, Turkish and French, the first deep and jammy, the second lighter and more petal-like, with other floral notes filling in around them. Frankincense adds a dry, lemony smoke, and labdanum with amber brings a thick, warm, resinous sweetness. Vanilla softens the base, sandalwood and vetiver give it wood, and ambergris with musk a salty, skin-like finish.
Longevity and sillage have not yet been reported, though amber and resin bases of this kind are usually persistent. It suits cooler weather and evenings, for someone who likes rose warm and incensed.
