Yasep

Yasep is a woody citrus for men from Bvlgari, composed by Jacques Cavallier Belletrud and released in 2019. Everyone who describes it calls it woody; about two thirds also find it citrusy, and a minority pick out a spicy, musky side.

The opening is bright and juicy, with Sicilian mandarin giving a sweet orange-peel freshness that is sharpened by a tingle of Sichuan pepper. As that lifts, the composition settles onto its wooden frame: cedar brings a dry, pencil-shaving cleanness, amyris a softer, slightly balsamic wood, and sandalwood adds creaminess underneath. Vetiver contributes an earthy, rooty dryness, and musk smooths the whole thing so the drydown stays close to the skin rather than turning harsh.

This is a tidy, well-mannered scent that reads as fresh first and woody later, the sort of thing that works in an office or for daytime in warm weather. It is marketed to men, and the citrus-and-wood balance keeps it easy to wear without much fuss.
