Manege Rouge

Manege Rouge from Al Haramain Perfumes, released in 2019, is a sweet, fairground-style gourmand for women with a mossy base. Everyone who describes it calls it sweet, and about half also find it spicy, green, floral, warm with amber and citrusy.

Jasmine, orange and saffron open it, the orange bright, the jasmine warm and the saffron adding a dry, slightly leathery spice. The heart is cotton candy and caramel, fluffy, sugary and toffee-like, exactly as the name suggests. The base is where it gets more interesting: amber brings a warm, resinous glow, and oakmoss a cool, damp, green earthiness that gives the sweetness some grip and keeps it from being purely confectionery.

It is marketed as feminine and suits the cooler months and the evening, for someone who likes candy-floss sweetness with saffron and moss underneath.
