La Collection Y is a spicy floral chypre from Yves Saint Laurent, released in 2011 for women. Everyone who describes it calls it spicy, two thirds add floral, and a third each notice green, woody and citrus.
Bergamot gives a bright, clean opening, and pink pepper, spices and spicy notes add a rosy, dry heat that defines the first impression. White flowers and iris form the heart, the flowers creamy and slightly heady, the iris cool and powdery, together softening the spice. Oakmoss and patchouli make up the base, the moss dry, green and forest-like, the patchouli earthy and dark, giving the scent its classic chypre structure.
