The notes come as a single list, but they draw a clear coastline. Bergamot and aldehydes give a sparkling, slightly soapy brightness at the start. Sea water and a note simply called sand supply the marine, mineral freshness that gives the scent its name, with thyme adding a dry, herbal, wind-blown touch. Underneath, ambergris brings a salty, warm, faintly animalic glow, sandalwood a creamy smoothness, and patchouli and musk an earthy, soft finish.
Longevity and projection have not yet been reported in numbers worth repeating. On its notes, it suits spring and summer days by the water or anywhere one wants to feel as if one is, for someone who likes marine scents with more wood and salt than sweetness.
