Amelia, a 2020 women's fragrance from the British brand Ted Baker, is a soft, unusual gourmand. Everyone who describes it calls it sweet, about half find it floral, and a quarter add wood and musk.
Rhubarb opens it with a tart, green, slightly vegetal brightness that is rare in a sweet scent. Almond and heliotrope follow, bringing a powdery, marzipan-like softness, with magnolia and jasmine adding a creamy floral glow. The base turns syrupy and warm: maple and tonka bean give a thick, sweet depth, liquorice adds a dark, aniseed twist, and patchouli keeps it grounded.
