Mandarin Tea

Mandarin Tea by Shanghai Tang, released in 2014 and composed by Carlos Benaïm and Sonia Constant, is a bright citrus tea scent for men. Citrus is the word everyone uses; about half also describe it as gourmand, green, musky, floral and amber-like.

Mandarin orange and grapefruit open it with juicy, slightly bitter zest, and green tea adds a cool, leafy, faintly tannic freshness that gives the start its calm, tea-house character. Jasmine forms the heart on its own, soft and fragrant without being heavy. The base is warmer and sweeter than the opening suggests: vanilla and amber give a gentle glow, and white musk keeps the finish clean and close to the skin.

It is a light, refined fragrance for daytime and warmer months, well suited to the office or a relaxed afternoon. It suits someone who likes citrus but wants a softer, more contemplative version with tea and a touch of vanilla rather than a sharp sporty one.
