La Corte, composed by Fabrice Pellegrin for the Italian house Salvatore Ferragamo in 2018, is a creamy floral gourmand worn by anyone. Floral is the word everyone uses; most also call it sweet, and a smaller share woody or ambery.
Almond and almond milk set the tone from the start, soft, milky and marzipan-like. The heart is white flowers: jasmine and Indian jasmine, warm and heady, with lily and white lily adding a creamy, slightly spicy sweetness and freesia a lighter, dewy touch. The base is Bourbon vanilla and vanilla for a rich, rounded sweetness, cashmere wood for soft, plush warmth, and amber and white amber for a smooth, lasting glow.
Reports on longevity and sillage have not yet been collected. By character it suits autumn and winter, evenings and cooler days, and anyone who likes white florals wrapped in almond and vanilla. It is sold in a large bottle.
