Byzance Gold from Rochas, released in 2022 for women, is a sweet, fruity floral with a woody base. Everyone who describes it calls it gourmand, most add woody and floral, and a third find it musky, so the fruit is warmed and grounded rather than left sharp.
The notes are listed without stages. Raspberry, lychee and black currant provide a tart, juicy opening, berries and a slightly floral fruit against a darker, greener currant. Rose and jasmine form the heart, giving a rich, slightly jammy floral body that pairs naturally with the berries. The base is tonka bean for a warm almond sweetness, cedar for a dry woody frame, patchouli for an earthy depth, and musk for a soft, skin-like finish.
