Polo Red Parfum is the Parfum concentration of Ralph Lauren's Polo Red, released in 2023. Citrus is the word everyone uses for it, and about half also find it spicy, woody, musky, aromatic and ambery, a spread that points to a warm citrus rather than a fresh one.
The opening is blood orange and bergamot with pink pepper, a sweet-tart red citrus with a light, fizzy spice. The heart is absinthe and lavender, an aniseed-tinged, herbal, slightly bitter pairing that gives the scent its grown-up edge. The base of opoponax, cedar and musk is resinous, warm and softly sweet, with the cedar keeping it dry and the musk smoothing it onto the skin.
Most people find the longevity moderate, with a fair share calling it long lasting, and the projection moderate. It is voted for autumn and winter and splits evenly between night and day. That makes it a cool-weather masculine for dinners and evenings, where a citrus with some warmth and resin suits better than a summer cologne.
