Pure XS

Pure XS, created for Rabanne in 2017 by Anne Flipo, Bruno Jovanovic and Caroline Dumur, is a sweet, spicy woody scent for men, and it is well rated by those who have reviewed it. Woods lead, sweetness is strong, about half of people notice spice and citrus, and a minority mention resin and leather.

Grapefruit, bergamot and apple bring a bright, juicy and slightly bitter freshness, while ginger, cinnamon and thyme add warm, aromatic spice. Green notes and a green accord keep the opening crisp before the sweeter side appears: liquor and sugar create a boozy, candied warmth, and vanilla a creamy, rounded sweetness. The base combines woody notes, cedar, patchouli, cashmeran, myrrh and leather, a dry, earthy, resinous and supple finish that balances the sugar.
