Gold Edition Oud by Pascal Morabito is a woody oud for men. Everyone describes it as woody, and a quarter also find it spicy, floral or ambery, so the wood dominates and the rest is seasoning.
The notes are listed as one group. Saffron brings a dry, leathery spice at the start. Rose sits in the heart, a rich, slightly jammy flower that is the traditional partner for oud. Agarwood, or oud, is the main wood, dark, dry and resinous, supported by cedar for a clean, pencil-like dryness and sandalwood for a creamy smoothness. Incense adds a thread of smoke, and patchouli gives the base earth and depth.
