NOUF, a 2022 release from PARIS CORNER worn by anyone, is a warm amber-wood with a pineapple opening. Everyone who describes it calls it woody and ambery, and about half add spicy, sweet or floral.
Pineapple and saffron open it together, the pineapple ripe and juicy, the saffron dry, leathery and faintly medicinal, which is an unusual and striking pairing. The heart brings jasmine for a heady, slightly indolic white-floral warmth and balsam fir for a cool, resinous, forest-green note that keeps the middle from turning sweet. The base is where it settles: agarwood for dark, resinous wood, cedar for a dry, clean counterpoint, and amber for a soft, glowing warmth that lingers.
No wearers have yet reported on longevity or projection, though amber and oud bases are generally persistent. Saffron, fir and amber suit autumn and winter and the evening, for someone who likes oud-style warmth with a bright, fruity start.
