Floral and amber in equal measure, Così Blu by the Italian house Pantheon Roma is a warm, resinous composition by Arturetto Landi, released in 2017. Spice, wood and musk sit behind the two main themes.
Absinthe gives the start a herbal, slightly bitter lift, softened by a touch of strawberry and warmed by cinnamon. Rose and jasmine then bring a full floral heart. The base is the richest part: frankincense adds smoky, balsamic sweetness, hay a dry, sun-warmed note, and civet an animalic, skin-like depth over a woody, vanilla-tinged foundation.
It is worn by anyone, and its incense-and-amber character points towards autumn and winter, evenings and quieter occasions where a complex, slightly vintage-feeling scent is appreciated. Those who like animalic florals or resinous ambers will find the most to explore here, while anyone after a simple fresh scent may find it too dense.
