Inlé

Inlé by Memo Paris, composed by Alienor Massenet in 2007, is a green floral built around tea. Everyone describes it as floral and most as green; a quarter also pick up spice, wood, musk and citrus.

Tea opens it alongside bergamot and neroli, so the start is fresh, slightly bitter and a little citrusy, with cardamom adding a cool, aromatic spice. The heart is where the scent becomes distinctive: osmanthus brings an apricot-like, leathery floral note, jasmine sambac a warm, rich sweetness, and fig a green, milky quality that smells of leaf and sap as much as fruit. The base keeps the green theme going with mate, a dry, herbal tea note, over cedar, musk and a soft, powdery violet.

Most wearers report moderate longevity and a moderate to close trail, with a minority finding it weak. It is voted mainly for spring and summer and mostly for daytime. It suits someone who likes florals that smell of leaves, tea and fruit rather than petals and sugar.
