The opening is lively and slightly unusual: kumquat and bergamot give a tangy, bittersweet citrus, and nashi pear a crisp, watery sweetness. The heart turns gourmand, with caramel bringing a buttery, sugary warmth, offset by geranium, whose green, rosy sharpness stops the caramel from being flat. The base is where the green facet lives, as oakmoss adds a dry, earthy, forest-floor bitterness, ambergris a salty warmth and musk a soft finish.
