Eau de Lancaster

Eau de Lancaster, from the Monaco-based house Lancaster, dates from 1977 and is positioned as a masculine fragrance. It is floral above all, and most people also describe it as sweet, aromatic and citrusy, with spice and amber noted by a minority.

The notes are unordered and span a classic 1970s structure: bergamot and mandarin orange open brightly, coriander, basil and lavender add a spicy, herbal freshness, and jasmine, lily and floral notes form a soft heart with peach lending a touch of fruit. Oakmoss and palisander rosewood give the base an earthy, slightly sweet woody character, warmed by vanilla and amber.

No wear reports on longevity, sillage or season have been gathered. On structure alone it reads as a versatile daytime fragrance with an old-school aromatic feel, comfortable in spring and autumn. It is sold in a 75 ml bottle.
