Cool Play is a woody fragrance from the French brand Lacoste Fragrances, released in 2006. Wood is the main theme, with spice and citrus behind it and lighter sweet, musky and floral touches.
It opens with mandarin, bergamot and coriander, a bright, zesty start with a light spice, while birch leaf adds a green, slightly leafy freshness. In the heart, violet brings a cool, powdery floral note and pepper and juniper a crisp, aromatic bite, with cedar adding dry wood. The base of vetiver, sandalwood and vanilla is smooth and gently warm, with musk keeping it clean.
This is a masculine scent with a sporty, fresh-woody character, suited to spring and summer, daytime, the office and casual outings. It should appeal to someone who wants an easy, clean woody scent with a bit of spice, rather than something heavy or very sweet.
