Ilyan is a sweet, woody floral from the French house Imperial Parfums, released in 2023. Gourmand, woody and floral impressions are shared by everyone who describes it, with about half also noticing musky, amber or citrus facets.
The opening sets grapefruit against caramel, a sharp, bitter citrus softened by something warm and buttery. In the heart, jasmine and Bulgarian rose bring a classic, slightly heady floral richness. The base is where the scent gains its depth: vanilla and amber give a smooth sweetness, agarwood adds a dark, resinous woodiness, and sandalwood and white musk soften everything into a creamy, lasting finish.
Ilyan is worn by anyone. With its caramel-citrus start and oud-vanilla finish, it suits cooler weather and evening wear, and it will appeal to someone who likes sweet scents with a serious woody backbone rather than pure dessert.
