Cherry Oud, released by Guerlain in 2022 and composed by Delphine Jelk, is a rich cherry and rose fragrance with oud. Sweetness and florals lead equally, with woods and leather at half that strength.
The opening is cherry and fruity notes, a dark, juicy and almost liqueur-like sweetness. The heart is Turkish rose and Bulgarian rose, a velvety, rich floral pairing. The base is leather and oud, a supple, smoky and dark woody finish.
Performance is exceptional by most reports: many wearers say it lasts far beyond a day, and the sillage is mostly strong. It is voted for winter and autumn and is very much an evening scent. It suits dinners, dates and cold nights, and it is worn by anyone who likes dark cherry and rose over a smoky leather and oud base.
