It opens with bergamot and bergamot leaf, so the citrus is leafy and bitter rather than sweet. The heart is the distinctive part: iris and orris root give a cool, powdery, slightly earthy elegance, aldehydes a sparkling, clean lift and clary sage a dry, herbal, faintly tea-like greenness. The base is simple and warm, with cedar adding a dry, pencil-shaving wood and tonka bean a soft, hay-like sweetness.
