Acqua di Giò Profumo is Giorgio Armani's 2015 fragrance for men, composed by Alberto Morillas. Everyone who describes it calls it aromatic, and about half also find it woody, fresh, floral, ambery and citrusy, a wide spread that reflects how much it changes on skin.
It opens with bergamot and sea notes, a bright, salty freshness in the family tradition. The heart is herbal: rosemary, sage and geranium, dry, green and slightly camphorous, which is the source of the aromatic character everyone notices. The base is the departure from the original: incense gives a cool, mineral, smoky resin, and patchouli adds an earthy darkness, so the drydown is deeper and more serious than the marine opening suggests.
Most wearers find it long lasting, with a quarter calling it moderate. Projection is reported as moderate by most people and strong by a third. It is voted mainly for summer and spring, and almost equally for day and night, which makes it a warm-weather scent that can carry into the evening, for someone who likes marine freshness with smoke underneath.
