Bal d'Afrique Hair Perfume, the 2015 hair version of a Byredo scent, is mainly citrus, with a woody layer underneath.
The note list is short. Lemon and bergamot give a bright, clean citrus opening, sharp and slightly bitter. French marigold and marigold bring the scent's most distinctive note: a green, slightly bitter and herbal floral, a little fruity and almost tomato-leaf-like, which adds character to the citrus. Vetiver then provides an earthy, slightly smoky woodiness that anchors the composition and gives it a dry, elegant finish.
