Loyal Man by the German brand Bruno Banani, released in 2019, is a sweet, fresh fougère for men. Everyone who rates it calls it gourmand, two thirds also find it woody, aromatic or amber-like, and a third note spice or citrus.
It opens on apple, lemon, ginger and mixed fruits, a juicy start with a little ginger warmth. The heart is where the aromatic side comes in: lavender and mint give a cool, clean barbershop freshness, balsam fir adds a resinous green note, and geranium rounds it off. Cedar, tonka bean, patchouli and Amber Xtreme make up the base, so the drydown is warm and sweet with a dry woody edge.
