Thara Al Oud by Ard Al Zaafaran, released in 2020, is a spiced oud. Everyone who describes it says woody; about two thirds add spicy, and a third find it musky or aromatic.
Six notes are listed, without a pyramid. Saffron opens with a warm, leathery, slightly metallic spice that pairs naturally with oud, and nutmeg adds a drier, sweeter warmth. Lavender is the surprise, bringing a clean, herbal, aromatic lift that lightens the top. Oud sits at the centre: dark, resinous, slightly medicinal wood. Patchouli deepens it with an earthy, damp richness, and musk softens the base into something warmer and closer to the skin.
