Sport Man

Sport Man is a green, watery aromatic marketed for men from the Spanish house Antonio Puig, released in 1997 and composed by Rosendo Mateu and Benoist Lapouza. Green and fresh are the two words everyone uses for it, most also find it spicy and woody, and a third notice amber or citrus, which fits a classic nineties sport scent.

Bergamot, pomelo and neroli open it with a bright, slightly bitter citrus and a soapy orange-blossom lift, and aldehydes add a sparkling, clean sharpness. Mint and water notes give the start a cool, almost wet freshness, and green tea and green notes extend it with a leafy, slightly astringent quality. Pepper and nutmeg bring a dry, warm spice to the heart so the scent does not feel thin. The base is traditional, with oakmoss adding a damp, bitter depth, sandalwood and vetiver creamy and smoky woods, and amber and musk a soft, warm finish.

It is a daytime scent for warm weather and active days, for men who like the crisp, green, slightly spicy freshness of that era.
