The opening is sharp and bitter rather than sweet: lemon, bergamot and grapefruit alongside artemisia, a dry herbal note, and caraway for a savoury spice. The heart brings pine and carnation, a clove-like flower, with sandalwood and patchouli already hinting at the base. That base is where it earns its reputation: oakmoss gives a damp, forest-floor depth, leather and tobacco add a smoky richness, and amber warms it all.
