Guidance Hair Perfume, the 2023 hair version of the Amouage scent, is equally gourmand and floral, with a strong woody side and smaller spicy, resinous and amber touches.
The top notes are unusual and soft: hazelnut brings a toasted, nutty sweetness, pear a juicy, crisp fruitiness and frankincense a dry, slightly citrusy smoke. In the heart, rose gives a velvety petal note, osmanthus a delicate apricot-like floral glow, jasmine sambac a warm, slightly fruity sweetness and saffron a leathery, honeyed spice. The base is creamy and warm: sandalwood brings a smooth, milky woodiness, ambergris a salty-skin warmth, Akigalawood a peppery, woody depth and vanilla a soft sweetness.
Hair perfumes are made to be applied to the hair, where they tend to give a gentle trail as you move. The profile suggests autumn and spring, daytime and evenings, and refined occasions.
