The notes are listed together rather than in stages. Grapefruit gives a sharp, bitter citrus brightness at the start. Nutmeg adds a warm, dry spice, and elemi a peppery, slightly lemony resin. The heart is a black rose, meaning a rose with its sweetness stripped back and its darker, spicier side turned up. Underneath sit dark woods and an Alcantara accord, a suede-like leather note that gives the base its smooth, soft feel.
