The spices are the whole top and middle. Ginger gives a sharp, fresh heat, cardamom a cool, aromatic, slightly green spice, and coriander a lemony, peppery edge. Black pepper and pepper bring the dry tingle, and nutmeg a warmer, sweeter, slightly dusty note. The base is cedar and woody notes, crisp and pencil-like, with patchouli adding an earthy depth that keeps the spice from drifting off too quickly.
