Saffron opens with a warm, golden, slightly leathery spice, and angelica a fresh, green, herbal note with a musky edge. The heart pairs rose, velvety and soft, with violet, gently powdery. The base is dark and smooth: ebony and ebony tree give a dense, dry, slightly smoky dark wood, and leather a supple, polished texture.
