L'Oudh by the Swiss perfumer Andy Tauer (2018) is a woody fragrance built around agarwood, with about half of those who describe it noting floral, resinous and amber sides and a smaller group noticing musk and leather.
The notes are listed as one set rather than in stages, but the character is clear. Rose and jasmine bring a rich floral glow at the centre. Agarwood, or oud, supplies a dark, dry, faintly animalic wood, and castoreum adds a warm leathery depth. Mushroom gives an unusual earthy, damp-forest note, while patchouli, vetiver and cypriol deepen it with soil and smoke. Labdanum, styrax, myrrh and tobacco bring resin and a sweet, smoky warmth, smoothed by sandalwood, ambergris and musk.
It is shared and worn by anyone. This is a dense, contemplative scent for autumn and winter evenings, and it suits people who enjoy complex, slightly animalic woods.
