Panama 2.0, composed by Maurizio Cerizza for the Italian house Panama 1924 in 2018, is a spicy, boozy wood. Everyone who describes it calls it spicy, most add woody and musky, and a third mention sweet, amber and leather.
Black pepper gives a dry, sharp heat at the start, and saffron adds a leathery, slightly medicinal warmth. Davana brings a fruity, boozy, apricot-like note that leads naturally into whiskey, which adds a smooth, oaky, faintly sweet depth. White flowers soften the middle. The base is woody and smoky: woody notes with birch, whose tarry, leathery smoke is where the leather impression comes from, and vanilla and amber for a warm, slightly sweet finish, with white musk and musk smoothing it.
Marketed for men, it suits autumn and winter and evening wear, and a person who likes whisky-and-leather fragrances with spice on top and a bit of sweetness underneath.
