Man Black Edition

Man Black Edition is a 2022 men's fragrance from Maison Alhambra that mixes dark woods with a sweet, candied thread. Everyone who describes it says woody, about two-thirds add spicy and floral, and a third notice musk, amber or citrus.

Orange and pink pepper open it with a bright, peppery citrus. Nutmeg gives a warm, dry spice, and jasmine with violet adds a floral core, the jasmine heady and the violet cool and powdery. The sweetness comes from candies, tonka bean and sweet notes, which sit over tobacco for a dry, hay-like richness. The base is dark and dry: cedar and papyrus for wood, patchouli and earthy notes for soil-like depth, incense for a thread of smoke, and musk to round the finish.

Longevity and sillage have not yet been reported by wearers. Tobacco, incense and candied sweetness make this an autumn and winter scent for evenings, aimed at men who like sweet and smoky together.
