Sumatra, from the German brand Les Destinations, is a woody fragrance composed by Coralie Spicher and released in 2023. Sweet, resinous and aromatic sides each make up about half of its character.

Lavender gives a clean, herbal, slightly floral opening, fresh and calming. Patchouli soon takes the lead, with its rich, earthy, slightly sweet and dark character, the heart of the composition. Vetiver adds a dry, grassy, smoky woodiness. The base is warm and resinous: cistus brings a sticky, amber-like depth, benzoin a soft, balsamic, vanilla-like sweetness, and vanilla itself a creamy, comforting finish.

Worn by anyone, it suits autumn and winter, cosy evenings and relaxed weekends. It should appeal to those who love patchouli and want it softened by lavender and vanilla, earthy and warm rather than sharp or green, a grounding, comforting scent for cool weather.
