Radikal Jasmine

Radikal Jasmine from Laurent Mazzone Parfums, released in 2020, is jasmine with an amber shadow. Everyone who describes it calls it floral, about half find it ambery, and a quarter add sweetness. It is worn by anyone.

Black currant opens it with a tart, slightly green fruitiness, and freesia adds a light, peppery freshness. The heart is the jasmine, both the common flower and jasmine sambac, the latter richer, greener and more indolic. Orchid brings a soft, slightly vanillic smoothness. The base turns dark and warm: black amber and ambergris give a salty, resinous, faintly animalic depth that anchors the flowers.

This is an evening scent, suited to cooler months and to people who want jasmine at full strength rather than diluted. The amber base makes it heavier than a spring floral and better suited to dressing up.
