Lemon and bergamot open it with a sharp, sunny freshness, and bay leaf and laurel add a green, herbal, slightly spicy edge. Lavender, clary sage and geranium fill the heart, giving the aromatic, barbershop character of a classic fougère. The base is where the sweetness comes in: tonka bean and vanilla bring a creamy, almond-tinged warmth, oakmoss adds a dry, bitter depth, and vetiver a clean, rooty earthiness that keeps it masculine.
