Oud in White

Oud in White by Laboratorio Olfattivo, composed by Julien Rasquinet in 2024, is a woody fragrance with floral sides noticed by most people, about half finding it sweet, and smaller groups noting spice and resin.

Raspberry and pear give a juicy, soft fruit at the start, with ginger adding a zesty spark. The heart is floral and creamy: jasmine sambac and jasmine bring luminous sweetness, and osmanthus a delicate apricot-like note. The base is where the oud comes in, Cambodian oud giving a dry, smoky wood, softened by sandalwood's creaminess, cedar and Virginia cedar's crisp dryness and labdanum's warm, honeyed resin.

As the name suggests, this is a lighter, brighter take on oud. It is shared and suits anyone, and it works in spring and autumn, daytime and evening, for people who want oud with fruit and white flowers rather than a dark, heavy style.
