L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme Solar Lavender is a three-note scent of lavender, Sichuan pepper and cedar, released by Issey Miyake in 2024 and marketed to men. Everyone who has described it calls it spicy, woody and aromatic at once, one word for each ingredient.
Lavender is the lead, clean, herbal and slightly sweet, the sun-warmed field rather than the soap bar. Sichuan pepper gives it a fizzy, tingling spice, more citrusy and bright than black pepper, so the lavender feels lifted rather than heavy. Cedar is the base, dry, smooth and faintly pencil-like, holding the two lighter notes in place and giving the scent its length on skin.
