Ylang D'Or

Ylang D'Or is a sweet, woody floral from the Italian house Il Profvmo, composed by Michele Marin and released in 2023. It is worn by anyone. Everyone who has described it calls it floral, most also find it gourmand and woody, and a minority pick up ambery or citrus touches.

Ylang-ylang is the named star, a heady, creamy, slightly banana-like tropical flower, and it is supported by rose, violet and orange blossom, which add jammy, powdery and honeyed floral shades respectively. Citruses, fruity notes and a green accord lighten the opening so the flowers do not land all at once. The sweetness comes from honey and tonka bean, warm and a little waxy, and the woody side from cedar and sandalwood, one dry, one smooth and milky. Patchouli and amber finish the scent with earthy depth and a resinous glow.

Rich, golden and sweet, it suits cooler weather and evening wear, and anyone who enjoys a full, old-style floral with plenty of warmth beneath it.
