Honey Oud

Honey Oud is a sweet, resinous wood from the British house Floris, released in 2014 and worn by anyone. People describe it as gourmand and woody in equal measure, and about half also find it musky, resinous, ambery or citrusy, which hints at how much is going on under the honey.

Bergamot gives a brief, bright lift at the start before the honey takes over, thick and golden rather than sugary. Rose sits inside it and keeps the sweetness from becoming cloying. Oud brings the dark, slightly smoky woody core, and patchouli adds earth. Labdanum and amber give a warm, balsamic glow, with vanilla rounding the edges and musk softening the finish on skin.
