Pink pepper gives a rosy, slightly peppery sparkle at the start. Coffee follows, roasted and a little bitter, which is what keeps the sweetness in check; caramel then adds a toasted, buttery sugar. Rose and geranium form the floral heart, the rose full and jammy, the geranium greener and sharper, and together they give the gourmand base something to lift it. Vanilla, amber and tolu balsam close it with a warm, resinous, slightly cinnamon-tinged sweetness, and musk softens the finish.
