Black Karak from the Korean brand BORNTOSTANDOUT, composed by Véronique Nyberg and Maxime Exler in 2025, is a spiced milky tea gourmand inspired by karak chai. Everyone who describes it calls it gourmand, most also find it spicy and woody, and a minority mention green, amber and leather facets.
Cardamom and saffron open it with a warm, aromatic and leathery spice, the classic flavours of karak. Black tea brings a dry, smoky, slightly tannic note, and milk a soft, creamy smoothness, together recreating a cup of spiced milky tea. Coffee adds a roasted depth. The base is dark and woody: agarwood gives a resinous, smoky woodiness, guaiac wood a smooth smoke, cypriol an earthy note, leather a polished texture, and tonka bean and amberwood a warm, sweet finish.
Unisex in spirit, it suits people who love tea and spice gourmands with a darker woody side. The profile points to autumn and winter, cosy days and evenings. Those who enjoy chai-like fragrances with oud and leather should find it warming and original.
